South Dakota’s local governments aren’t getting a pass for violations of the state’s open meetings laws anymore.

The South Dakota Open Meetings Commission on Monday continued vetting reports of boards, commissions and councils for cities, counties, townships and water districts that piled up over a years-long period the commission was inactive.
