Support for a new prison in Mitchell is softening among members of the Project Prison Reset task force.
Less than a week after a panel of lawmakers, policymakers and public safety officials voted unanimously to explore the possibility of building a new men’s prison in the Davison County community—among others—some are now saying Mitchell is off their list of viable sites following overwhelmingly negative feedback from residents.
