Maintenance and restoration of the dome atop the Brown County Courthouse is ramping up again as crews work on the deteriorating structure.

So far, the project’s cost is at $838,000, up significantly from the original bid of $738,233 from Building Restorations Corp. of Roseville, Minn.

The work includes painting, metalwork and tuck-pointing. Tuck-pointing is a process to improve masonry like bricks. Deteriorated mortar is removed and replaced.
