Missing fingers, rotting boards: Work on Brown County Courthouse resumes
Lady Justice on dome holding partial scale

Maintenance and restoration of the dome atop the Brown County Courthouse is ramping up again as crews work on the deteriorating structure.
So far, the project’s cost is at $838,000, up significantly from the original bid of $738,233 from Building Restorations Corp. of Roseville, Minn.
The work includes painting, metalwork and tuck-pointing. Tuck-pointing is a process to improve masonry like bricks. Deteriorated mortar is removed and replaced.
