The Minnehaha County State’s Attorney’s Office has been given the go-ahead to pursue legal action against a property owner who continues to operate a bed and breakfast without a permit.

The County Commission voted this week to seek an injunction against the property owner. That would enable the State’s Attorney’s Office to ask a judge to force the property owner, Tyler Childress, to cease operating the venue.

Childress, who did not return a message from The Dakota Scout, operates the Laurel Ridge Event Venue north of Sioux Falls. The venue, which includes a wedding barn, is within the joint jurisdiction area of both the city and Minnehaha County.
