Change order would build unused shell for future expansion
Minnehaha County is taking advantage of a favorable bidding climate by building out additional shell space for its new Juvenile Justice Center – a decision intended to save taxpayers in the future.
The decision will allow for expansion at the site when the time comes.
The County Commission approved a $1.6 million change order to the ongoing construction project to add additional space to the Juvenile Justice Center. The commission had originally approved spending up to $50 million on the project in 2023, but it’s been less than that.
