The property tax rate increase to insure Minnehaha County’s buildings next year will be the lowest it has been in nearly a decade, county officials said Tuesday.

Insurance specialist Todd Flickema of Sioux Falls told the County Commission the rate will rise 1.3 percent, the smallest increase since 2016, when the rate dropped 26 percent.
