Midwest Murder comes to Sioux Falls
Genre-leading, North Dakota-based podcast to record in front of live audience Wednesday
One of the most listened-to true crimes podcast is bringing their show to South Dakota.
Covering the crimes that ‘don’t happen here,’ North Dakota-based true crime podcast “Midwest Murder” will host a live recording at Icon Lounge Wednesday where patrons can be part of the nationally-renowned program.
“We always think that our community is immune to it, it doesn’t happen here — and it couldn’t be more of a falsity,” Midwest Murder co-host Dawn Palumbo told The Dakota Scout. “It most certainly happens in the places that you don’t think. It’s important to be aware of that.”
Midwest Murder blends the backgrounds of Palumbo — she comes from a law enforcement family — and her fellow co-host Jonah Lantto’s storytelling ability to create a suspenseful, inquisitive show that keeps listeners — and live audiences — entertained.
Both say their chemistry and research is what sets the Midwest Murder podcast apart from the others. And the format of one host presenting a true crime story that happened in the Midwest that the other knows nothing about — and along with the audience is hearing it for the very first time — keeps the interactions candid.
