Michael Lorang, 65, of Sioux Falls, SD, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, surrounded by his family at his home. Visitation with the family present will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at George Boom Funeral Home & On-Site Crematory in Sioux Falls. His funeral service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, also at the funeral home. Military honors will take place at Hills of Rest Cemetery in Sioux Falls, immediately following the funeral service.
Grateful for having shared his life his wife, Kerry of Sioux Falls, SD; sisters, Kay Faber and Sandra (Jeffrey) Portice, all of Sioux Falls, SD; brother, Jeffrey (Sandy) Lorang of Sioux Falls, SD; sisters-in-law, Jill Lorang of Sioux Falls, SD, Kay Schmidt of Witchita, KS, Karyl (Richard) Divich of Sioux Falls, SD, Karen (Blake) Johnson of Sioux Falls, SD, Kathy (Lowell) Wilkinson of Sioux Falls, SD, and Konnie (Robert) Boe of Sioux Falls, SD; and brother-in-law, Kevin (Deborah) Larson of Rapid City, SD. Mike is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Della (Albers) Lorang; son, Alexander K.E. Lorang; brother, David Lorang; sister-in-law, Karla Kuyper; and parents-in-law, Geraldine (Peterson) and Russell Koan and Kenneth W. Larson.
