Maher to step down as head of Board of Regents
Board names replacement who will step in when Maher's contract expires
The head of the South Dakota Board of Regents will resign following the end of his contract, which runs through June, the board announced Tuesday.
The end of June will conclude Brian Maher’s third year at the helm of the board as executive director and CEO. The Board of Regents oversees South Dakota’s six public universities.
“The past few years have been a wonderful complement to a career in education,” Maher said in a statement. “Beginning my professional life as first an educator, then a K12 administrator, and now as the Executive Director for South Dakota's public university system, I feel especially fulfilled.”
