Linda L. Smith, 64
October 24, 1960 – July 30, 2025
Linda Smith, age 64, passed away on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at her home in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Linda was holding hands with her children and husband when her Lord called her home. Family will be present for visitation from 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at Miller Funeral Home – Westside Chapel (6200 W. 41st St., Sioux Falls, SD) with a memorial service beginning at 6:00 pm.
Linda excelled in her career working for the Sioux Falls Park Department. She started in the forestry department planting trees and ended her career as a park supervisor. Linda’s job encompassed her love of nature, gardening, outdoors, and people.
This passion was evident in her personal life with her lovely gardens & landscaping at her home and cabin on Lake Poinsette.
Summer weekends were spent with her husband Doug enjoying the good life with their lake friends. She had a real love for getting crazy on her 1100 jet ski.
Linda was blessed by her husband Doug in marriage for 35 years. They made a great team, being supportive and loving in their time together.
Linda is survived by her husband Doug; children, Teresa Bruggeman, Sylvia Humke (Pierce) and Parker Smith; her 6 grandchildren, David, Kassy, Adrian, Evelyn, Marilyn, and Ernest; and her siblings, Loretta Bowes, Raleigh Tripp, Phil Tripp, and Dan Tripp.
Heartfelt thanks to the hospice team who was a great support to Linda and her family.
