Lincoln County Commission waiting on budget decisions until vacancy filled

Lincoln County commissioners postponed their first major 2027 budget discussion Tuesday night so the next District 2 commissioner can help shape decisions on spending, roads, and property taxes.

The board had scheduled a work session after interviewing applicants for the vacant District 2 seat. But after a long meeting in Canton, commissioners agreed to move the budget discussion to July 7, when they expect to discuss and select the new commissioner.
