Lincoln County commissioners voted unanimously Tuesday to expand public comment rules, eliminating a cap on the number of people who can speak on the same topic and extending individual speaking time from three minutes to five.

Tuesday’s meeting in Canton unfolded in a noticeably calmer and more collegial manner than the previous week’s contentious session that drew public criticism for its tone and handling of citizen input.

A federal judge has ordered a Huron-based health staffing company to discontinue using “PRN” in its name and marketing materials, ruling that its use is infringing on a trademark owned by a Wisconsin company.
