Divisions among public officials in Lincoln County over government spending and property tax burdens again revealed themselves in Canton this week.
This time, tensions among county commissioners flared during public hearings on a proposed $29.6 million budget that would cover operations in 2026. The spending plan drew pushback from both residents and some commissioners who questioned the necessity of some capital projects and funding requests from non-governmental organization.
