Cool. So... what’s the plan for prison overcrowding that results from this?

Also, what's the plan to address "truth in charges" by state's attorneys? We had an AG who killed a man, got a ride home from the scene by the local sheriff, wasn't alcohol tested until the next day (when all alcohol would have worn off), and didn't even get charged with reckless driving.

The effects of this over-reaching ill-advised emotional and political legislation won't sink in to these legislators until the ill-effects directly affect them and their loved ones which, eventually it will. It is too bad so many families will be devastated in the meantime until such legislation eventually gets revised, which it will. History sadly, is doomed to repeat itself because people don't learn their lessons. Every generation needs to see for itself how hot the fire is on their hand.

As long as these legislators keep viewing criminals as they and them rather than we and us. Nothing will change. Throwing the baby out with the bath water is usually not very smart.
