LETTER | House bill threatens South Dakota's clean energy future

Republicans in the House recently passed their “one big beautiful bill”. While some of its provisions benefit South Dakotans in general, wealthier taxpayers would in fact reap about two-thirds of the benefits. Many provisions in the bill negatively impact us, but I’ll focus just on clean energy.
The bill dismantles long-standing bipartisan clean-energy tax policy, restructures the federal tax code and eliminates clean energy incentives under the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA).
