Julie Frye-Mueller reclaims Senate seat following week-long suspension
Rapid City lawmaker censured following workplace harassment complaint
PIERRE — The South Dakota Senate has allowed Sen. Julie Frye-Mueller back into its chamber after a rebuke last week amid workplace harassment allegations.
But the 33-1 vote Wednesday on the Senate floor also came with a censure of the Rapid City lawmaker for conduct “unbecoming the Senate,” according to a report issued by the Senate Select Committee on Discipline and Expulsion earlier in the day.
