Jewish community 'welcome here' in groundbreaking for Chabad Community Center

With the flick of more than a dozen shovels, history was made in Sioux Falls Tuesday with the groundbreaking for the region’s Chabad Jewish Community Center in Sioux Falls.
“Today,” Rabbi Mendel Alperowitz told about 200 people who gathered for the ceremony in south Sioux Falls, “we stand on the shoulders of those who came before us, and we are planting the seeds for generations to come.”
Alperowitz said he hoped the community center would be a welcoming lighthouse for all, not just Jews.
South Dakota leading effort to support ranchers in beef labeling dispute
South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley is leading a bipartisan coalition of 11 attorneys general in filing a court brief supporting cattle ranchers who say manufacturers are misleading consumers by selling foreign-sourced beef under a “Product of USA” label.
