Sioux Falls mayoral candidate Jamie Smith conceded the election Tuesday, several days after a recount confirmed that he lost the June 23 runoff election by four votes to Christine Erickson.

Smith said that he had received questions about whether he would challenge the results. He acknowledged that he had grounds to mount a court challenge, but he decided not to.
