James Randall was born November 10, 1939, in Junius, SD, to Earl and Bertha Randall. He grew up in the Junius area and graduated from General Beadle High School. He served his country honorably in the US Army from 1963-1965, being stationed in Germany. On June 25, 1967, he married Fran Seubert. They made their home on a farm near Canistota, where Jim farmed for many years before beginning work at Morrell’s where he stayed until 2005. During this time, Jim and Fran were blessed with three children: Brian, Tamee, and Ranee.
Jim enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He often attended his grandchildren’s sporting events and activities, and recently, enjoyed holding all of the new babies in the family. You could typically find him bullhead fishing at Lake Vermillion, drinking coffee with the guys, or driving around in his little blue pickup with his dog Oscar. If you were ever looking for Jim, the first place to check was Larry’s Service, which was always a daily stop for him, or down in the shop, where he typically liked to hide all his sweets from Grandma Fran.
Jim is survived by: his wife, Fran of Canistota; his children Brian (Bridgett) Randall of Sioux Falls, Tamee (Lynn) Schultz of Emery and Ranee Randall of Sioux Falls; his grandchildren, Sawyer Randall, Ashton Young, Bradlee (Mary) Schultz, Rylee (Mesa) Schultz, Shelbee (Austin) Bunger, and Bailee (Andrew Wolter); his great-grandchildren, Lance Schultz, Vivee Bunger, Barrett Bunger, Ruth Wolter, and Baby Schultz arriving in July. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Bertha, and siblings, Hazel, Herbert, and Maynard.
