Illegal immigrant wanted on homicide charges arrested in western South Dakota
El Salvadoran was detained in Rapid City traffic stop by Highway Patrol, ICE
Federal and state law enforcement officers arrested an El Salvadoran who was wanted in his native country in connection with a homicide, the South Dakota Department of Public Safety announced Thursday morning.
Manuel De Jesus Rodriguez-Lopez was taken into custody Wednesday in Rapid City by officers with the South Dakota Highway Patrol and agents with Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Rodriguez-Lopez was in the country illegally.
