ICE confirms eight arrested in Madison worksite raids
Manitou Equipment America rep says company is cooperating with authorities
Eight people alleged to be in the country illegally were detained by federal agents in Madison on Tuesday and now face deportation.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement announced the arrests Tuesday afternoon following worksite enforcement actions at two companies in Madison earlier in the day.
At Manitou Equipment America, two undocumented immigrants from Nicaragua and one from El Salvador were taken into custody. At Global, ICE detained three from Nicaragua and two from Guatemala. The eight are being held pending removal proceedings, according to ICE.
