Lincoln County commissioners opened 2026 by voting themselves pay raises – and accusing each other of lying – as the board’s familiar 3–2 split hardened through a combative organizational meeting Tuesday.

Happy New Year!

Commissioners also voted 3-2 to keep Chair Tiffani Landeen and Vice Chair Jim Schmidt in their leadership roles for 2026, cementing the same governing bloc that would dominate the rest of the meeting.
