Sioux Falls City Hall is targeting homeless encampments in public spaces with a new ordinance that would explicitly ban unauthorized shelters in parks and along the Big Sioux River.

Police Department and public health officials are asking city councilors to back a proposed measure aimed at clearing out makeshift dwellings that have become a festering predicament for city leaders.
