SIOUX FALLS — A multi-billionaire has set his eyes on Sioux Falls’ parks system, offering millions of dollars to revitalize a hidden pond in town.
City leaders in Sioux Falls announced Tuesday, July 7, the future receipt of $15 million in grant funding from the Bezos Earth Fund’s Greening America’s Cities initiative.
“The Bezos Earth Fund is a global organization based in the US, started by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and his wife Lauren Sanchez Bezos,” explained Sioux Falls Mayor Paul TenHaken. “It focuses on creating new parks, but also revitalizing neglected spaces, such as the one behind us.”
