Gov. Rhoden re-files campaign finance reports with eye to 2026
Governor elaborates on electoral plans during first bill signing
PIERRE – South Dakota Gov. Larry Rhoden is leaving the door open to running for the same post in 2026, he said Friday, only an hour after filing a statement of organization with the Secretary of State’s Office.
The Rhoden for Governor campaign committee has existed for several years, but in past filings the office has been described as being for lieutenant governor. In the most recent filing Friday, it was Rhoden for Governor.
It was the clearest sign yet that he might run for the post in less than two years.
