Daycare assistance for childcare providers will not be part of Gov. Larry Rhoden’s answer to calls for the state to address daycare shortages across South Dakota.
The governor’s office on Wednesday announced Rhoden issued his first-ever veto, opting not to sign legislation passed by state lawmakers that sought to expand the state’s childcare assistance program to families above financial poverty lines.
