Gov. Kristi Noem is the latest statewide elected official to make her opposition to a proposed ballot measure to legalize abortion in South Dakota.
In a video message made for the 2024 South Dakota Right to Life convention taking place in Yankton this weekend, Noem threw her support behind the effort to defeat Amendment G, while touting her administration’s efforts to support mothers and children during pregnancy and after.
“This year we have a challenge for the pro-life movement,” Noem said. “Of course I will be voting no on the extreme Amendment G, and encouraging others to do the same. I have never shied away from fighting for life.”
