Gov. Larry Rhoden accepts two general election debate invitations

Democratic opponent Dan Ahlers says he's willing to do more debates, public events

Gov. Larry Rhoden announced Friday that he will participate in two debates ahead of this year’s general election with his Democratic opponent, Dan Ahlers.

The debate invitations Rhoden accepted are from the South Dakota State Fair, which takes place Sept. 2-7, and South Dakota Public Broadcasting. The SDPB debate would take place on Sept. 28, a full month before the general election on Nov. 3.
