A former tribal official and his wife have been indicted for conspiring to distribute fentanyl, using tribal funds in some instances to buy the controlled substance.

Misty Standing Bear and Mason Big Crow were indicted by a grand jury in May. The case was unsealed last week and the two entered not-guilty pleas. Standing Bear, 49, was released on bond pending trial. Big Crow, 52, remains in custody until trial, in part because he has a criminal history and was violating the law while on probation, according to court documents.
