A now-former child protection services employee has been arraigned on four felony charges for allegedly falsifying documents while working for the state of South Dakota.

Nova Collins, 56, appeared in a Lawrence County courtroom Tuesday after being indicted last fall by the South Dakota Attorney General’s Office. The Spearfish woman faces four felony counts and one misdemeanor for crimes that allegedly occurred in early 2025.

She pleaded not guilty.
