A state legislator and former Democratic gubernatorial candidate has announced he is running for Sioux Falls mayor.
Jamie Smith, the assistant minority leader in the South Dakota Senate, will hold a news conference announcing his intentions to run for the position vacated by term-limited Paul TenHaken. Smith will host a news conference at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Washington Pavilion.
