South Dakota stands to gain from President Donald Trump’s push for foreign trade reform even as global trade relations face disruptions due to new U.S. tariffs.

That’s the outlook Prakash Gupta, a diplomat with India’s Foreign Service who oversees Indian foreign affairs, shared last week during a visit to South Dakota, describing India-U.S. relations as resilient despite recent strains in the global marketplace.
