Feds look to bolster crime prevention in Indian Country with grant program
Trump administration announces availability of more than $107 million in funding
The U.S. Department of Justice has opened applications for more than $107 million in grant funding to help American Indian and Alaska Native tribes address public safety, crime prevention and victim services through the Fiscal Year 2026 Coordinated Tribal Assistance Solicitation program.
The department announced the funding opportunity, saying the grants will support federally recognized tribal governments and tribal consortia as they develop comprehensive strategies to improve public safety and respond to victimization.
