Lawsuit says hotel ignored warnings that screen was easily displaced
The family of a 19-month-old boy who fell to his death from a Sioux Falls hotel room is blaming the company that owns the hotel for the accident.
The family of M.P.H., the initials of the boy, have filed suit against Ramkota Cos. and Regency Hotel Management for the accident that occurred on April 13, 2024. The lawsuit was filed by the boy’s maternal grandfather, Philip Allen Nasby, who was named by a Hennepin County, Minnesota, judge as trustee for M.P.H.’s next of kin.
M.P.H. was with his parents, Alex and Kathryn Hein, and his older sister on a trip to Sioux Falls to celebrate Alex Hein’s selection as section basketball coach of the year. Both Alex and Kathryn Hein are teachers and coaches at Jackson County Central Schools in Minnesota.
