Toby Doeden is denying he’s ever voted for Barack Obama after Gov. Larry Rhoden accused the Aberdeen businessman of supporting the Democratic president before becoming a Republican.

The attack from Rhoden’s campaign came after Doeden allies unearthed audio of the Union Center rancher and longtime legislator being accused of drinking while presiding over the South Dakota Senate in 2020.

Both men dispute claims made in the sparring soundbites released days before South Dakota’s historic GOP gubernatorial runoff.
