A former judge removed from the bench last fall following misconduct allegations is practicing law in South Dakota once again.
Wade Warntjes will resume a career as a defense attorney after being dismissed as a magistrate judge in the Second Circuit Court this fall for allegedly violating the South Dakota Unified Judicial System code of conduct. Tapped to be a senior deputy public defender in Minnehaha County, his hiring marks a return to the county’s public defenders office.
