Dennis H. Frickel, 76, of Garretson, passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at the Palisades Healthcare Center. In honoring his wishes, private family services will be held at a later date in Montana.
Dennis was born on March 21, 1950 in Billings, MT, the son of Herman and Lillian (Gates) Frickel. He grew up and attended school in the Billings area. He worked at the Midland Meat Packing Plant in Billings. In 1981, he moved to Rapid City, SD where he worked at Federal Beef Processors and then Merillat Industries. He moved to Garretson, SD in 2024.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, his pet birds and riding his Harley.
He is survived by his children, Penny Baker of Sioux Falls and Keith (Shannon) Frickel of Piedmont; his 8 grandchildren, Ashleigh Baker, Alyssa Baker, Zachary Baker, Amber Baker, Alexandra Baker, Ava Baker, Zander Baker and Zane Baker; his pet birds, Kellee and Brandon and his extended family and many friends.
The family would like to extend a special Thank you to the staff at Palisades Healthcare in Garretson and St. Croix Hospice in Sioux Falls for their wonderful care and compassion.
