Convention of States, No Kings organizer barred from Sioux Falls Independence Day Parade

Group behind July 4 procession's revival deny second applicant; policy backers differentiate between candidates, political parties and special interest entities

Political speech will be restricted at the revived Independence Day parade set to take place next weekend in downtown Sioux Falls.

And the volunteer committee behind the policy to bar special interest activist organizations representation in the July 4 parade is now facing accusations of excluding groups that don’t align with conservative politics.

However, the Sioux Falls Independence Day Parade Committee (SFIDPC) has de not just the progressive activist group that publicly griped about being denied a spot in the Saturday morning hour-long street festival that’s right now is set to feature more than 80 entries by area businesses, service groups, candidates for elected office and political party organizations recognized by the South Dakota Secretary of State.
