PIERRE – Increasing levels of student violence in South Dakota public schools are hurting the state’s teacher supply, officials say.

The incidents have become more frequent and “explosive,” Secretary of Education Joe Graves said recently. Over the last few years he’s spoken to teachers, administrators and other school employees about the issue.
