Chicago law firm accuses Sioux Falls recruiting agency of fraud
Lawsuit alleges two lawyer recruits did no work while receiving hundreds of thousands
A Chicago law firm is accusing a Sioux Falls recruiting agency, its owner and a recruiter of racketeering after the firm says they misrepresented the backgrounds and credentials of two lawyers they referred to the firm.
Ultimately, Klintworth & Rozenblat says the two lawyers “caused substantial financial harm” to the firm. And it contends The Agency Recruiting intentionally misrepresented the backgrounds of the two recruits.
The Agency Recruiting claims on its web site that it has 25 years of experience in the recruiting industry, but the agency was only started in 2023, and its owner, Logan Koopman, graduated from college in 2017, according to the lawsuit. DeWet Jooste, a recruiter, had been with the agency since 2023 and had only listed about one year of prior recruiting experience on his LinkedIn page.
