A Brookings man will spend the rest of his life in federal prison following his conviction on two counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child, the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced Monday.
Judge Charles Kornmann sentenced Joseph Darrell Peterson Jr. to life in federal prison last week. A jury found Peterson guilty on the two counts in June. He had been indicted in August 2024.
Peterson, 47, was formerly of Veblen.
