Brookings agrees to assist SDSU Police Department following firing of school chief
Brookings Police Chief Michael Drake will provide leadership for the school until a new chief can be found
The Brookings Police Department will assist South Dakota State University’s Police Department with some of its duties, the city announced Monday.
Brookings and SDSU entered into an agreement that provides law enforcement coverage at the state’s largest university. The agreement took effect Friday, and it was made at the request of the university.
Brookings Police Chief Michael Drake will provide the leadership for SDSU’s department until the university hires a new police chief.
