A Rapid City man is seeking $1.4 million in damages from the U.S. Forest Service following an accident with his boat at Sheridan Lake in the Black Hills National Forest.

Delbert Stover was attempting to get a boat off its trailer to participate in a poker run event on Sept. 19, 2019. As he stepped from the dock to his boat, the dock moved suddenly and Stover fell into the water, hitting his head, shoulder, elbow and wrist on the boat and trailer as he went in, according to the complaint.
