Automotive instructor gets top teacher honors in South Dakota's largest public school district
Real-world training, industry partnerships earn Sioux Falls CTE's Rickie McCaulsky Teacher of the Year distinction
Rickie McCaulsky, an automotive and diesel mechanics instructor at the Career and Technical Education Academy, has been named the 2026 Dr. John W. Harris Teacher of the Year by the Sioux Falls School District.
The award was announced Monday night during a ceremony at the Sanford Barn. The honor is co-sponsored by the school district and Vern Eide Motorcars, which presented McCaulsky with a $4,000 check. The Sioux Falls Public Schools Education Foundation also awarded $1,000 to each of the four other finalists.
