Albert Joseph Benoit was born on May 15, 1929, in Framingham, Mass., to Emile and Josephine Benoit. He attended Bellingham High School before proudly serving his country in the United States Army from 1947–1951. Following his military service, Albert worked for Janelle’s Trucking Company and later at Wrentham State School, where he served as a Direct Support Professional, caring for and assisting others with compassion and dedication.
On July 4, 1962, Albert married the love of his life, Pauline Valois. Together they built a loving home and were blessed with three children: Monique, Andre and Marc. Their marriage was a testament to unwavering commitment, faith and love, providing a strong foundation for generations to come.
After moving to Sioux Falls in 2008, Albert became a devoted member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. In 2021, he joined St. Michael’s Parish, where he continued to deepen his faith and find joy in the parish community.
Albert found his greatest happiness in spending time with his family, especially their cherished Sunday gatherings. He enjoyed spirited games of Scrabble, researching his family’s genealogy, completing 1,000-piece puzzles and spending time on his iPad and computer. He also loved sharing inspirational quotes with family and friends, always hoping to encourage and uplift those around him. Above all, Albert’s life was centered on his deep faith. Each day was devoted to prayer and growing closer to the Lord, a quiet example that inspired everyone who knew him.
Albert is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Monique (Karl) Pardee; his sons, Andre Benoit and Marc (Jeanrae) Benoit; and his four granddaughters, Quiana, Giana, Adriana and Sarah. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Pauline; his parents, Emile and Josephine Benoit; and his brother, Henry Benoit.
