Accused prison rioters getting day in South Dakota court
Seven of the 24 inmates indicted have appeared in court, each pleading not guilty
SIOUX FALLS — Court appearances are underway for some of the 24 prison inmates charged in connection to unrest at the South Dakota State Penitentiary.
Seven of the two dozen inmates indicted have made court appearances at the Minnehaha County Courthouse, each pleading not guilty to various combinations of criminal charges including simple assault, aggravated assault and rioting.
