A dream in motion: Expanding the vision of black history in South Dakota
Director has high hopes for museum at Washington Pavilion

SIOUX FALLS – Zechariah Van Harris III has a dream.
Well, lots of dreams, for the future of the South Dakota African American History Museum where he serves as president and curator.
Many people visiting the Washington Pavilion in downtown Sioux Falls probably walked right past the museum while attending a performance or visiting the facility.
That’s because it’s in one of the first floor hallways and is rather simple as it includes six glass-enclosed displays in the walls.
