$100K check gives Sioux Falls mayoral candidate record-setting boost

A political action committee funded by a consortium of Sioux Falls business and development interests dropped $100,000 into the campaign coffers of mayoral candidate Christine Erickson, according to documents filed with the City Clerk’s office.

The donation from Driving South Dakota was disclosed Tuesday. The money pushes Erickson’s campaign chest past $320,000 so far, well ahead of her four rivals, solidifying her front-runner status in the race, and points to the high stakes of the Sioux Falls mayor’s race.
