POW/MIA Recognition Event

Veterans Memorial Park, Sioux Falls
The annual event will recognize prisoners of war (POW) and those still missing in action (MIA), honoring the many sacrifices made. Seven flags bearing the names of South Dakota’s POW/MIA will be flown, one of which will be retired and presented to the family of a recently identified individual. The event will feature guest speaker Colonel Marty Pennock, a decorated veteran and current Adjutant for the Disabled American Veterans, as well as MC Dave Rowe, a Vietnam War veteran and radio personality. The event highlights the ongoing efforts to account for the more than 81,000 Americans still missing in action.
