Sadly, I knew what this article would say before I finished reading the title. The solution to everything is not tax cuts. Every ill in society is not a tax. $27.98 million in assets exempted from the Estate and Gift Tax... these aren't poor farmers. And now the heirs get a tax free stepped up basis. $27.98 million. And it was especially wonderful to have to give up health insurance as of January 1st. Why don't you and your colleagues actually try to figure out what will bring down health care costs so insurance costs will become manageable again? In order to keep my insurance in 2026, I would have had a premium that was 50% of my income, that's more than is recommended for housing, and absolutely ridiculous. The middle class is the backbone of this country and yet year after year politicians continue to take actions that serve the upper class while pushing more people into lower class and for some reason voters can't seem to figure this out. Though the lack of candidates who are not just seeking reelection, personal power and enrichment makes it tough for us.
